
Chester Wayne Patton, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 surrounded by his family. Chet was born May 9, 1949, in Sullivan, Indiana. Chet retired from Citizens Gas in 2001. He was an avid golfer and loved to visit the casinos. He always had a funny story or joke to tell and always maintained his positive attitude. Chet was a lifetime member of IPB-VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Teresa (Terri); special granddaughter, Kelsey Young; sons, Todd Patton, Ryan Boring (Erin Filson); daughter, Tricia Brock; grandchildren, Gage, Gracey, and Garrett Patton and Cole Bennett.
Chet was a caring son-in-law to Shirley Hacker; brother-in-law to Mona Kennedy and Andy Hacker; and brother to 5 siblings. Other survivors include nieces, Meredith Burkart (Conor), Caroline Hacker, and Halie Fabian; great-nieces Quinn and Savannah; and Kelsey’s mommy, Anne Young.
Chet asks that all remember him for his sense of humor and has requested no services. He and his family would like to thank those that visited.

I had the pleasure of knowing Chet for the last 9 years. He was always so fun to be around. He especially loved his granddaughter Kelsey and she could get him to do things that many of us “old folks” felt we were to old to do. He was one of a kind!RIP Papaw Chet you will be missed.

I was a schoolmate of Chet from grade school on. We joined army reserve together and trained at Fort Ord together. I have so many good memories of things Chet and me did together. We all lost a great guy guy.

Such a great guy. I’ll always remember Chet Patton and Dennis Neal on that 67 Bearcat team that won the sectional. Such a special time for all of us. Chet was just a great guy. So very sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear of Chet’s passing. We were not close but I always knew his family and was close to his sister Sharon. We loved Chet for his talent in Basketball as well as just being his sweet self. He was always kind to everyone and left the world a better place.
